The deal secured all NCLH ships (NCL, Oceania and RSSC-Regent Seven Seas) in Port Seattle for the full term of the lease of Bell Street Terminal (Pier 66). The guaranteed passenger volume was estimated to bring ~USD 73 million of revenue to the cruise port. According to official statistics, Alaskan cruises from Seattle generate ~USD 440 million in economic impact annually. Additionally, NCLH agreed to make improvements to Terminal 66 that were estimated at USD 30 million to expand its facilities. Under the new lease, NCLH manages all terminal operations and has priority berthing rights during the season. Both terminals provide a range of amenities to make your embarkation process as enjoyable as possible.

The ride lasts about 12 minutes and provides excellent views of the city. During our spin, we saw the Norwegian Bliss docked at Pier 66. Further up the street, at 1124 Pike Street, you can visit another Starbucks called the Seattle Roastery. Here, you can book a tour and see how the coffee chain roasts its beans. Visit Pike Place Starbucks if you need coffee to start your day. While it’s the first store of the famous chain, despite moving locations, it looks the same as it did originally.

Seattle’s Great Wheel

On arrival, cruise passengers may be offered soft drinks while waiting to board but there are no cafes actually at the cruise terminal. However, there is plenty of seating with a great waterfront view and restrooms are available. The Seattle Port Valet is a great service that allows cruisers to enjoy sightseeing in Seattle without having their luggage in tow.

Remember to plan ahead and allow ample time for travel, considering factors such as traffic conditions and your desired convenience level. It’s always a good idea to check for any updates or potential delays before you embark on your journey. If you’re in need of a rental car, Sea-Tac Airport has numerous car rental agencies located on-site. Companies such as Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, and Budget offer a variety of vehicle options to suit your needs. Seattle is known for its picturesque landscapes, vibrant culture, and thriving tech industry.

Pier 57 also hosts a variety of activities, from dining at The Crab Pot and sampling bread at Alaska Sourdough Bakery to enjoying the carousel. We opted for a late hotel checkout on embarkation day to squeeze in some time at Pike Place Market. Exploring the market could take hours, as it’s packed with more experiences than one can cover in a short visit. It’s busiest in the afternoon, so an early morning visit is recommended to avoid the crowds. The city is also a great place to spend an extra day or two to explore what it truly offers. Each offers natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Taxis to Pier 91 are three miles further and are charged at the regular metered rate, depending on traffic. This service must be applied for while you are onboard enjoying your cruise. You need to complete the enrolment form in your stateroom – the earlier the better. If you have any questions about the Seattle Port Valet, visit the guest service desk onboard.

Make Time to Explore Pike Place Market

Also known as Pier 66, it’s conveniently located downtown, close to the Pike Place Market. From here, you can see the ships docked at Pier 91, further north (see image above). If you’ve chosen to begin your journey at the port of Seattle, learn how to reach the ports, which cruise lines dock where, and the options for a pre-cruise stay. One port is conveniently located downtown, and the other is further north. The cruising season typically runs from April to October, with April, May, September, and October being shoulder season. Take the ramp towards Western Avenue and continue onto Western Avenue.

Majestic Princess 7-day Alaska

SEATTLE - The 2024 cruise season in Seattle begins this month and the first sailing is this weekend. There is a long, covered walkway to the check-in area, ideal if it’s busy and raining. The Seattle Cruise Terminal, with two locations, serves as a critical gateway for Alaskan cruises. Many cruise guests who live in the United States prefer embarking at a Seattle port, eliminating the need for an international flight. A pier representative will direct guests to their motorcoach once they have collected their luggage, clear customs, and exit the terminal. Transportation service will be provided during the duration of the debarkation process.

When restarted, the new facility will be operated by a private company (TBA) which is due to be responsible for 50% of all development costs (~USD 100 million). Berth's northern portion serves as cruise dock (land area 29 acres / 117,360 m2), while its south end is for docking of breakbulk cargo ships. One service that is unique to cruisers at the Port of Seattle is the complimentary Port Valet.

There are 25 handicap parking spaces available at the Bell Street Pier garage. These need to be prebooked if you are leaving your car there for the duration of the cruise. Strictly Necessary Cookie should be enabled at all times so that we can save your preferences for cookie settings. This museum isn’t just about viewing glass art; it’s an immersive experience suitable for all ages.

When comparing Seattle Alaska cruises to ones from Vancouver, Seattle departures tend to have shorter port times. Most itineraries arrive in Juneau in the afternoon due to the longer travel time. If you are disembarking in Seattle and have a later flight, you can benefit from the Port Valet. A complimentary service, the Port Valet will collect your luggage from the cruise ship and deliver it to the airport. You’ll be able to track your luggage online for peace of mind.

Restrooms are located both before and after security, in the ticket halls and in the disembarkation areas inside both terminals. Luggage storage location is in the Crew Center at the north of the Ground Transportation Center. When the Port of Seattle kicked off plans to develop a new cruise ship facility on the Seattle waterfront, we were faced with a challenge. The seaport of Washington State is nicknamed ”The Emerald City“. It currently has 2 passenger terminals - "Terminal 91" and "Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal" (aka "Pier 66"), plus 1 new/planned (Pier 46). Fishermen's Terminal (on Salmon Bay) is the homeport (dock) for Washington state's North Pacific Fishing Fleet (commercial fishing vessels).

This modern facility features comfortable waiting areas, check-in counters, and efficient security screening processes to ensure a smooth embarkation process. Here's the 2024 cruise season and the schedule may be subject to change. There are two cruise ship terminals – Bell Street Cruise Terminal and Smith Cove Cruise Terminal.

NCL's USD 30 million investment into Pier 66 allowed in Seattle to be homeported the ever-largest Alaskan ship - Norwegian Bliss. The liner started turnaround (roundtrip itinerary) operations in June 2018 with 7-day Inside Passage cruises. To handle new ship's capacity (5200 passengers, 1730 crew), Terminal 66 was expanded from 44,000 ft2 (4090 m2) to 151,000 ft2 (14030 m2).

A VIP area for suite passengers is available at the Bell St. Terminal. Read on for our breakdown of Port of Seattle, including address information, cruise line terminals, directions, services and more. In May 2017 was opened the renovated Pier 66 cruise terminal facility (see in the "terminal" section below) where are homeported NCL ships. The 15-year lease to NCL (until 2032) is estimated to generate over USD 2,3 billion in total revenue, nearly 900 jobs and over USD 65 million in taxes. 2017 was a record year for the cruise port - with handled 218 ship calls and nearly 1,072 million passengers (9% increase over 2016's 983,539 pax) and total revenue USD 501 million. On August 12, 2015, the seaport signed a 15-year lease deal with NCLH (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings).

There is a Sky Bridge connecting the cruise ship with the covered parking garage making it very easy to walk across to the garage from the cruise terminal. There is also a complimentary shuttle between the parking lot and the cruise terminal. The same system also makes this the ideal place to drop off cruisers who are checking in. Parking is available at Pier 91 for $27 per day for cars and $50 and up per day for RVs and larger vehicles. There are 1,000 spaces available and there is a complimentary shuttle transferring drivers to the cruise terminal from the parking garage.
